STRATFORD -- Bad.That's how Jen Tierney of Danbury succinctly described her performance in the first round of the 43rd annual Connecticut State Women's Amateur Championship Tuesday at Mill River Country Club.Struggling throughout, the 21-year-old Tierney carded a 14-over-par 86 and sits in an eight-way tie for 25th place in the field of 72 players.
